They say that when it comes to true love, age is just a number. Some people also believe that you might meet many people to love during your younger years, but there will come a perfect time for you and your true love to be together. These sayings came true when 73-year-old woman Lydia Montalbo met and wed her second husband, 32- year old Ferdinand Dela Cruz.
Lydia has been a widow for 18 years now, and she shared that her first husband gave her the consent to get married again after he passes away. With her husband’s death and their children living their own lives, Lydia has been struggling to live a single life. It then got a lot harder when she found out that she has developed cataract in both her eyes. Due to the condition, Lydia can no longer see clearly anymore. Her cataracts made her sight slightly opaque resulting in a severely blurred vision. This condition demanded her to get someone to help her in her everyday routine.
That is when Ferdinand enters the scene. Ferdinand is the nephew of Lydia’s son in law. Due to Ferdinand’s availability at the time, he was asked by his uncle to constantly take care of Lydia. At first, Ferdinand pities the condition of Lydia and he realized how hard it was to lose one’s vision. Until then, he vowed to never leave Lydia’s side and promised to take care of her needs until she requires. That’s how the pity he first felt suddenly turned into love.
Lydia fell for Ferdinand’s good attitude as according to her, he is extremely caring and supportive. She also likes how Ferdinand understands all of her needs since he started taking care of her five years ago. Lydia reiterates that it is love that binds them together, as no one can claim that Ferdinand will marry her for money because she is not rich, to begin with. Lydia and Ferdinand vows to love each other for as long as they live. They finally got married last May 11, 2017, with both their families supporting their relationship.
