Remember the viral photo of a boy who realized hi dream of getting to Boracay this summer by painting the beach on a cardboard? He also took a picture of himself pouring water over his head while staring at the drawn image of Boracay. His use of tabo or a water dipper earned him the title Tabo Boy online. Many netizens found this post amusing, that’s why it went viral on Facebook for a time.
Luckily, the post got to reach some nice people who later decided to actually bring Tabo Boy to Boracay. Facebook user Tong Yangco initiated the search for Tabo Boy, and some of his friends started sharing his quest for Tabo Boy in various travel groups on Facebook. It was quite hard at first because no one knew who Tabo Boy was. First, because his photo was posted by another person or page when it went viral, and second Tabo Boy had his back facing the photo. But these days, social media makes the impossible possible. And eventually, Tabo Boy was later identified as Rafael-nonog Gomez.
Gomez couldn’t quite believe how far his funny post went that he posted several updates on his own Facebook page. On May 12, 2017, Yangco finally got to contact Gomez and the next day, they booked him a ticket to Boracay. Tabo Boy’s most awaited Boracay getaway was scheduled on May 19 to 24, and based on the photos he posted, Gomez really had a good time. It was fortunate too that Yangco was part of an event in Boracay which made Gomez’s trip filled with fun activities and made him meet with more awesome people.
On the other hand, Yangco also posted photos of Tabo Boy while in Boracay and that he shares how happy he was in bringing him into the beautiful island. Many Facebook users were touched by the efforts Yangco made to make a total stranger’s dream come true.
On another post, Gomez took a photo of him together with Liza Soberano on the TV screen. Could it be possible that he can meet the other half of the LizQuenloveteam once this new photo goes viral? We cannot wait to what will happen next!
