Most people nowadays make it a point to never lose sight of their belongings wherever they might be. With the growing incidents of robbery and snatching in the Philippines, people would want to secure their things, especially when they go to public and crowded places like shopping malls. But just this week, news broke out that a lost bag was found. And the bag definitely contained something any person would be afraid of losing.
According to the hero of our story, security guard Ronald Llaneta, he was taking his usual rounds at the supermarket section of a mall in Makati around 7:00 in the evening when he noticed a bag in an abandoned push cart.
With several bombing incidents that have occurred in Manila in the past weeks, he immediately secured the bag and went straight to their security office to check its contents. He also asked some of his colleagues to come with him as he thought that the bag has something either valuable or dangerous in it.

Llaneta and his colleagues were surprised upon seeing 5 bundles of cash stacked in the bag, which they estimated to contain 100,000 pesos per bundle. The bag also contained a pair of eyeglasses, leaving the assumption that an old person owns the bag and might have just forgotten to bring it with them.
Llaneta and his colleagues immediately coordinated with the mall management to locate the owner of the bag. Luckily after a few hours, they were able to identify the owner and returned the bag to them.
The integrity of Llaneta did not end there.
The owner of the bag offered a monetary reward to Llaneta as a token of appreciation, but the latter refused to accept. According to him, it is a part of his job and does not necessarily need to be rewarded.
Llaneta said that as a security guard, he must take care of the welfare of the mall goers, including their things, and he just did what is expected from him.
